This is a story of the author's life journey. And like any journey, you will see ups, downs, happy and sad moments. This is a raw and brutally honest account of her survival through sexual and emotional abuse and the difficulties of trying to get out and break the vicious cycle. This is a story of challenges, determination, and resilience.

Against All Odds: In Between Countries is a journey that takes Alba from Colombia, South America, to the United States of America at the age of sixteen. She later finds herself as a single mother with two girls, dealing with economic struggles and mental health issues before finally finding out where she is in this life's roller coaster, looking forward to a time when she can finally live without the emotional suffering that has held her hostage most of her life.
