Dale Earnhardt's greatest triumph and tragic death both occurred at the Daytona 500 in 1998 when after 20 years he finally won and sadly in 2001 when he crashed and lost his life during the final lap when he was racing with his son Dale Earnhardt Jr. who along with his family continues the legacy of the "Intimidator" aka Dale Earnhardt.
