The action takes place from June to November 2030, during the five months before the general election in Manelton, a fictional American state, whose capital is Sitonville. The United States of America and Mexico are separated by a wall. Harry Johnson is the governor of Manelton and the candidate of the new Ultraconservative Party. His wife, Donna Johnson, is his right hand on the firearms company they run. Jason Wilson, Harry's campaign advisor, writes his speeches and runs the election campaign. Harry would like his son, Eric, follows in his footsteps and becomes the future governor. Harry hires George Miller, a friend of Jason, to give Eric private lessons. George is a teacher with a murky past and covers up a murder in his conscience. Lisa, the maid, lives in the governor's residence, although that is not her real name. She has a scar (the Mexican staple) on her chin that hides her past and the reason why she has fled from Ciudad Juarez. Harry's greed and ambition will cause his family to fall into the trap of the blinding power. Main charactersHarry Johnson: The governor of Manelton, an intolerant, racist, homophobic and xenophobic man. Donna Johnson: The governor's wife, a cunning, cold, calculating and ambitious woman.
