It provides clear guidance on formulating an environment of security and creating a cybersecurity policy pursuant to TXSB 820. This book is written as a step-by-step approach leveraging the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) 800-171 framework. Not all controls need to be addressed immediately but must be documented, monitored, and managed during the life of the system and data housed within a schools', colleges', or universities' data centers. There is still much more work that needs to be done in the area of cybersecurity. We are constantly reminded of ongoing intrusions to both public and private sector websites.
