Orchids, Roses and Thorns depicts a nature of humanity and their surroundings. The writer focuses mainly on the background, citizens and events in her native country. She presents her work to us in poetry and dramatic duologues expressing pain, contempt, abuse, the role of parenting in their homes, politics and poverty, crime among our youths and the girls of today expected to show up for tomorrow, a lady. She also highlights and glorifies all the excellence her country have produced, the citizens who have achieved greatness, the famously cherished landmarks, food and culture which separates them from any other island. We see where after a set of poems and duologues, the writer introduces her own quotes as a sort of connection to what she's going to say next. There's a motion to her poems and conversations, they're like scenes that gets you in tune to what is being delivered and there's a right amount of humor used where she thinks it appropriately necessary. She even expresses her personal struggles with society and being human. What I find interesting about this book is the way in which she guides us through each section of her work without that dull effect, the characters she argues with sets no limit to your imaginations. Her opinions are raw and open for debate. You'll enjoy reading each item.
