Raised by his widowed mother in Montenegro, my dad graduated from the Belgrade Law School. After Germany and its allies occupied Yugoslavia, he joined the partisans in their harrowing struggle for the country's liberation. His attraction to seas, his diligence and his people skills found a lifelong vocation in foreign affairs. This intimate travelogue traces my dad's family line, crisscrosses the Balkans, the Mediterranean and the Middle East, and portrays Lebanon in the mid-sixties. Radomir Radovi (1918-2000) was a distinguished Yugoslav diplomat.
