Healing Russia - Improving Peace, Prosperity and Human Rights in the Russian Federation
Mark O'Doherty
This study addresses blatant violations of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR) in Russia. This includes police violence and the murder of lawyers, activists and government critics - who have been harassed, imprisoned and even killed in Russia. These include numerous Putin critics who have ended up dead - such as Russian journalist Anna Politkovskaya, Human Rights Lawyer Stanislav Markelov, former Deputy Prime Minister Boris Nemtsov - as well as Natalia Estemirova, Sergei Yushenkov, Alexander Litvinenko, Boris Berezovsky, Mikhail Lesin and many more. Soul survivor of these cowardly killings is Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny. After surviving an FSB assassination attempt in 2020, Navalny was sentenced for over two years in jail. The goal of this unjust and inhuman imprisonment is to break Alexei Navalny - Russia's penal colony system being a blunt instrument used by the Kremlin to break the spirit of political opponents, marginalize critics and to remove them from the playing field - a testament of injustice, lawlessness and tyranny by the Putin government. In a historic joint statement delivered to the United Nations Human Rights Council, 45 countries voiced alarm at the deteriorating situation of human rights and fundamental freedoms in Russia - manifested in particular by the unlawful detention, arrest and imprisonment of Alexei Navalny. The UN called for the immediate and unconditional release of Navalny and all others unlawfully or arbitrarily detained in Russia - so that rule of law, fundamental human rights and democratic freedoms can be restored in Russia. Therefore we call on fellow global citizens to implement a revolution in Russia; to overthrow the corrupt and oppressive Putin government; so that democratic freedoms and rule of law can be restored in Russia. Fellow global citizens working in Russian law enforcement, the Russian military and Russian Intelligence (e.g. FSB, GRU and GUVD) who wish to join the 'Russian Human Rights Revolution', are welcome to do so - by joining our colleagues in the NGO Community. They are also welcome to approach Italian, French, Spanish and Polish Intelligence Agencies; either through their respective embassies, or by going directly to the headquarters of these Intelligence Agencies. In short, the NGO BTB-Global Peacebuilding is giving the "Green Light" to implement the Russian Human Rights Revolution; so that the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR) can be manifested in Mother Russia.
