It would be naive to believe that the existing system of healing or maintaining health can lead to recovery, if not for God's will. Even the great doctors can be said in the words of Theophan the Recluse: "The healer does not heal, And God heals through him. God inspires the healer and he prescribes real medicines. And when God does not help the healer, I don't know if any of them get real medicines. Turn to the doctor, but at the same time pray to the Lord and his Saints so that they will instruct him to guess the medicine. The Lord, by His grace, has given us to strengthen our faith in the healing of the Shrine."
