Tyler's Difference Junis Kinchen

Tyler's Difference is a book describing how persons with Downs Syndrome may have some differences but in many ways they are just like everyone else and wants to be treated the same. Tyler is my son and we have spent the past 26 years, at the time of this writing, making sure he was treated like everyone around him and that, in my opinion has made him as independent as his abilities will allow. When Tyler's niece asked about the difference in his speech, I found my self explaining this to her as I have done many time before to others. That little conversation between me and my four year old granddaughter was the inspiration for this book. It is my hope that it inspires others to see Tyler and all people who are "differently-able" as the same as them. Just People!
