Our adventure with Maximus continues. A sudden encounter with the second of the Demon Lords springs forth bearing ill fruit. Realms collide and amidst the turmoil Maximus finds his confidence shattered. Soon after he hides the Chaos Gemstone in order to keep it safe from unsavory eyes. He receives a summons to the Order of Mages and a trial ensues. Maximus learns of his ancestors, the Nephilim and their violent past along with a curse that keeps their power in check. Maximus continues on to punish the many rabid monsters, facing new and old enemies along the way. Until at last the Demon Lord Archafeld makes a move to invade Lorin. A climatic battle ensues upon the outskirts of the city of Metra as an army of demons invades through the portal. Maximus briefly learns of Malfeld's heart during his fight with Archafeld.
