Pollination of Vegetation of Forest Counties and Corridors of Tigers in India Devidas K Belsare

Increased human habitation, development projects, and road networks through forests of India created fragmentation of habitats of tigers, which are now called as tiger counties. This has affected corridors for free movement of tigers and wildlife which may lead to isolated pockets and will be vulnerable to localized extinction. Large areas of forests are now used for mining, ignoring tiger corridors. This would affect food chain of tigers, prevent interbreeding of population, increase in human-tiger conflicts, poaching of tigers, and more deaths of tigers in protected areas. The deforested and degraded forests will not regenerate quickly even if aforestation is done. In order to hasten this process, pollination of forest vegetation should be undertaken at war footing and to emphasize on agro-forestry plantation on private lands with installing boxes of stingless as well as honey bees may be kept in tiger counties and corridors and at the same time hunting of wild bees should be stopped by law.
