Thomas Grant and Lorna MacNee are betrothed by their parents as children. The two fall in love as they grow up together, and intend to marry. Three days before the wedding, Lorna learns Thomas's biggest secret. She's heartbroken and runs as far away from him as she can, all the way across the ocean to America. Less than three-years later tragedy occurs in both America and Scotland, affecting both of their lives, and Lorna's children. Necessity causes Thomas to travel to America, to reclaim his bride. Circumstances force them to wed, but Lorna refuses to surrender her heart. Thomas will have to be patient, and give Lorna time if he ever wants her to trust him again. Thomas does his best to win back her heart, but Lorna is stubborn and refuses to give him more than her body and friendship. But Thomas finds a way; he learns that sometimes, the only way Lorna will listen, is when she's tipped over his knee, with her backside bared.
