Even in Andrews

Even in Andrews continues the story of Andrews, Indiana, begun in Only in Andrews. In 1916, when the book begins, Andrews is a self-contained community, 8 miles or more from the nearest town. Factories provided employment; churches, clubs, and lodges took care of community needs, and the local newspaper kept everyone informed. The next 50 years brought national events home, from World War I to Spanish influenza to the Depression, from women's suffrage and Prohibition to war and then more wars. Andrews learned survival tactics and produced some remarkable people who influenced the nation and even the world, as well as some rascals. This is their story, and the story of the town during the event-filled years from 1916-1966.
