KidConnect Ready2Learn Curriculum teaches the fundamental Social Emotional Learning (SEL) skills that K-6 students need to manage their emotions and behaviors. Clear, quick and easy to use lessons that integrate into your busy school day Lessons progressively build students' core SEL skills Fun, classroom-ready to use tools give students opportunities to apply and practice learned skills in the classroom. In less than 30 minutes a week, you will have a whole class of students who are engaged and Ready2Learn. A Look Inside: KidConnect Ready2Learn Curriculum has 4 units [Emotions, Behaviors, Strategies, Mindfulness] with 26 lessons, each designed and sequenced to teach specific skills that build the ability to regulate emotions. Student's learn: How to identify, understand, and manage their emotions The critical connection between emotions and behaviors How to manage their emotions using personalized strategies and mindfulness techniques In the EMOTIONS UNIT, students learn how to identify their emotions, differentiate between emotions, communicate their emotions, and how to put their emotions into context to understand those events and situations that impact them. The BEHAVIORS UNIT introduces the critical link between emotions and behaviors. Activities and discussions focus on learning how to recognize On-Target and Off-Target Behavior. Whole class activities create a set of classroom expectations that students develop together. Teachers are able to personalize for their classroom and school needs. The STRATEGIES UNIT teaches students how to manage their emotions so they can make better behavior choices. This unit doesn't label behavior right or wrong or bad or good; instead, it focuses on equipping students with the tools they need to manage their behaviors. The classroom discussions and activities create shared ideas. Everyone benefits from successful strategies on how to stay emotionally regulated and Ready2Learn. The MINDFULNESS UNIT builds students' ability to refocus and be in control through simple, useful techniques that help them to transition during stressful situations. Students create personalized techniques to remind them of their plan so they can succeed in the classroom, during the school day, and at home. A strong SEL curriculum MUST teach emotional regulation so that students are able to identify and then manage their emotions and behaviors to become enthusiastic learners. Only then, are students able to show empathy for others, build relationships, and make good decisions at school, at home, and in the future.
