Mick and Loretta McReady pick up where they left off in Blair's original "Too Good to be True," but this time, their children and grandchildren play the dominant roles. It's a bitch getting old!Mick and Loretta become increasingly concerned about the direction their state, California, is heading, and nationally, the country isn't doing much better. Politicians in Washington and many potential presidential candidates are claiming capitalism is a failure, and it's time to embrace socialism. Their son Micah and his wife concur and are looking for a better place to live for their family. Loretta, with her prior track record of success in real estate, begins investigating properties outside of California. Loretta finds a large cattle ranch near Flagstaff, Arizona, that the family acquires. The property is large enough to allow Mikah to build a runway for his aircraft that he uses for business purposes. And, it is close to Northern Arizona University where the grandchildren can work or attend school. As the elections of 2020 approach, there are signs that the country is slipping further to the left. Mick begins talking to his former CIA contacts about fortifying the property. In the early summer of 2020, an assassination attempt is made on President Trump. He is not killed, but he is disabled, and Vice President Pence must take control. Trump doesn't resign because he is expected to recover, but not before the election in November. Vice President Pence will need to represent him during the rest of the campaign. The assassination attempt greatly alarms the McReady family, and Mick begins to move actively toward fortifying the ranch property. The socialists take control of the Democrat party and win the Presidency, the House, and the Senate in November of 2020. The economy begins to tank as a result of the new administration's socialist policies. Many people in the surrounding area come to the ranch for refuge and protection. A revolution begins when the President issues an executive order to confiscate guns. Things turn ugly when the authorities appear at the farm to confiscate weapons. Do the socialists eventually bring America the utopian society, or will they bring us another Venezuela? If you have read the previous book, "Too Good to be True," you know that Mick likes to discuss history and politics. Mick spends a lot of time with JR, his young grandson, educating him on the history of socialism. It's Blair's way to teach a little history in a way that doesn't bore you to death. Democrats will be pleased to learn how President Trump can be defeated. Republicans will think this book should be classified as a horror story. Millennials probably won't care as long as the free stuff keeps coming. This book paints a scenario of what could really happen. Everyone should read this book before voting on November 3rd. You won't be able to put this book down, so please make sure you have plenty of time on your hands."
