We know as we grow old we will face physical and social challenges. We understand that at some point in our lives there is a significant chance that we will lose our independence. Even as we recognize these truths, we do not apply that knowledge to ourselves, because we do not see ourselves as old... yet. We hope we are prepared and will make appropriate decisions, but we also know from experience with others that we may not act with that same conviction. These stories cover both simple and complex aspects of aging. The author hopes the stories will encourage readers to confront issues and start the conversations about the inevitable changes that aging incurs.
