When Alexandria 'Alex' Mathis gets a new client, a vampire client, she thinks she's finally breaking away from the boring, dull routine her career had become. Something she had been wishing for a lot lately as case after case started to blur together and her bills piled up. However when the case turns into nothing more than a missing necklace, she's left disappointed. That is until she is dragged into a police investigation and tainted magic starts to crop up in the search for her client's necklace. Add in a pissed off vampire King and a handful of demons and she starts to regret not listening to the old saying, "Be careful what you wish for."
