After renewing their vows and spending two glorious weeks on a second honeymoon with the kids in Paris, Mara, Payton, Alex, and Devan return home to face new challenges that hit too close to home and threaten to rip them apart. Craig Courtney, the man who plucked Devan off the streets when she was fifteen, comes to Fort Meade with a desperate plea for Devan to help him find his son Bobby who, along with his lover, has disappeared in Kingston, Jamaica after being pursued by the local anti-gay police. As the investigation gets underway, Mara and Payton's renewed relationship is pushed to the brink of collapse when Payton is forced to seek assistance from MI6 Director, Robin Driscoll, the woman who nearly tore them apart five years earlier. During the twists and turns of the investigation, Payton discovers a surprising accomplice of Frank Gilbert and Sebastian Kaplan's has come out of the shadows to wreak havoc once again and has targeted Alex and Devan as the first victims. To stop another attack before it occurs, Payton must step back into her former CIA persona and set out on her own to put an end to Gilbert and Kaplan's accomplices and end their reign of terror once and for all. However, in doing so, she reveals the dark and dangerous side of herself that she has kept hidden from her family, and this new revelation makes Mara pause and question their future together.
