This simple, yet fascinating coming of age narrative chronicles the life of an average African teenager and his struggles back home, and overseas. David is a high-spirited young Nigerian boy who grew up with the hopes and dreams of the typical African youth; the desire for a brighter future, and a better life. He had it all to look forward to and was eager to have an experience of adult life. However, a series of mistakes and bad judgment calls constantly threatened to derail his dreams. With luck like the Irish, David manages to supersede his initial fears and missteps that continuously put him in a prison more mental than physical. David finally makes it to Sweden on a scholarship, with hopes higher and a future brighter than ever. Alas, it seemed his dreams would eventually become a reality. Unfortunately, David's sense of bad judgment calls had also made it overseas with him. He continued to falter and flounder, the prospects that once seemed bright began to dim tremendously. Coupled with the harsh environment he found himself in, David soon learns that the grass isn't always greener on the other side. A series of turbulent events were soon to follow that had David getting continuously drawn into the entrapment that he so much dreaded; the prison that was his mind. Meeting Kate, a beautiful, good-natured Swedish lady with a kind heart and a forgiving spirit second to none, was meant to herald an upturn if fortunes for David. It was meant to signal the beginning of David's useful life. Kate was as good as they came; a ride or die companion. But will David get over his sense of bad judgement calls, or will it be his undoing?Grab a copy to find out!
