This book gets to the very source of why people struggle with negative emotions, like anxiety, depression, mood dysregulation, emptiness, etc.; as well as other patternistic struggles dealing with relationship conflict, addiction, trauma, abuse, and a host of other issues that have individuals seek counseling. The source of all of these issues is one thing, and that is how someone sees them self or what they have come to believe about them self. The trends of emerging research are helping us understand that life experience is absorbed and stored at the cellular level, both in neural pathways and encoded upon DNA. Whatever gets stored provides ongoing signals that shape belief. When such belief is stored within Implicit Memory, the individual has now shaped what is called the "Memorized Self" or "Procedural Self." The Memorized and Procedural Self continue to influence and shape ongoing experience. If that Memorized, Procedural Self is filled with distortions, then the ongoing experience is going to be filled with a host of negative symptoms and issues. This book is designed to help people understand the latest research so that they can engage with them self in a way that will change out any unhealthy beliefs, stored at the cellular level, with healthy, truthful beliefs. When someone comes to see them self accurately, that healthy perception will lead to serious changes in their ongoing experience. It will fundamentally change how they interact with their spouse, with their children, with work associates, and most importantly with them self. It will provide a correct filter by which difficult life experiences will be buffered and not be overwhelming. Feelings of discouragement, unhappiness, fear, doubt, cynicism, depression and lack of motivation will be replaced with hope, assurance, peace of mind, joy, purpose and empowerment.
