In 1981 Kaia Nightingale set off to India in search of adventure and enlightenment. In a remote Himalayan ashram, a seemingly awakened and free Swami promised the enlightenment she was seeking, but what began with transcendence soon spiralled downward. Years of abuse and manipulation followed that left her emotionally broken and in a spiritual crisis no one seemed able to help. Her gradual journey towards reintegration lead her to many therapies, healers and shamans and their gentle insights. Star Spirit is a journey that exposes spiritual hypocrisy, struggles with patriarchy and the limitations of traditional spiritual practice, yet never gives up the quest for deeper awareness and authentic freedom. This true story traverses many extraordinary and creative ways to heal without drugs or medical intervention. Sorcery was undone, energy fields were repaired, emotions were cleared and a troubled mind settled into peace.
