The Humming of Mathematics Shashi Kant Pandey
The Humming of Mathematics
Shashi Kant Pandey
We can feel the hum of mathematics from the famous line of a great mathematician, "There is geometry in the humming of the strings, there is music in the spacing of the spheres." - Pythagoras. Turning mathematics into music or music into mathematics plays an interesting role in the learning and teaching of mathematics. There is significant evidence of research about the relationship between music and cognitive learning of human beings. This book is a noble move of learning and teaching in an attractive way of collecting preliminary mathematical ideas from poems or rhymes. This book is a collection of poems based on mathematical concepts. All poems are based on the mathematical content of the secondary standard curriculum. I hope that it would be helpful for educators and teachers around the globe in terms of an innovative pedagogy of mathematics. We Start with numbers in the first chapter and in every chapter we have discussed specific mathematical concepts in poetic form. This book is divided into three sections. The first two contain secondary mathematics and in the last section, some poems are available for undergraduate students and math lovers of higher studies. Some of the poems are already published in various conferences and journals of national and international reputation. I hope the reader will enjoy this art and it would become a cause for the love of mathematics.
