Life has been throwing interceptions at all of us since the beginning of time. Nobody has been able to escape the fact that sometimes things don't turn out how we had hoped or envisioned. Indeed, when hopes, plans, and dreams are thwarted, we commonly express the design change by saying, "life got in the way." "Life... Intercepted!" is about those life-changing moments and the idea that "interceptions in life" can be turned into triumphs-or at least into critical learning experiences to help navigate us through our existence. In 1975, during the middle of his sophomore year in high school, Ken left his beloved hometown in Idaho and moved with his parents and siblings to Ogden, Utah. His life was turned upside down by this horrifically inopportune event. Ken did everything he could to prove what a terrible mistake his parents had made. However, ultimately something he could not help doing- in spite of his best efforts- was to finally enjoy, and even come to love his new hometown. Enjoy the experience through Ken's eyes as he uses his high school football participation as the backdrop to gaining a better understanding of the many adversities life throws at us. Feel the excitement of the game, the comradery of the teammates during the ups and downs of their senior season, and the impact that being a part of something bigger than oneself can have. Cozy up in your favorite chair and take a little walk back in time, reminisce about the good old days, then contemplate how the interceptions in your life have become life-long treasured lessons from which to grow. Cheer the victories, lament the failures, and let Ken's experiences evoke deep emotions to simultaneously guide your own positive reaction to challenges you face while helping others better handle their own interceptions in life.
