What if I told you, you could overcome your fear of speaking up in a split second? That's all it takes is a split-second decision to begin to be more comfortable speaking to others and gain more self-confidence. Growing up, I hated the sound of my own voice, never spoke up in conversations, or let people get to know the real me. I was so anxious about sounding weird, or people laughing, or being wrong, or any number of a million other scenarios that I could think of that I rarely ever spoke. I often wondered what was wrong with me. Does this sound familiar? Well, let me tell you first, there is nothing wrong with you. It's also totally fine to not speak if you don't want to. The point of this book is to help you empower yourself so that you may choose what you want to do instead of becoming frozen and unable to make a choice. I wrote this book as a guide to help others who, like me, have a difficult time opening up and speaking to others. Whether it be conversations with friends and family, work related presentations, or participating more on group discussions, this guide will help you make those split-second decisions that will help you succeed! Each chapter relates my experience as I made a split- second decision to speak. Included are written worksheets you complete as you progress through the text. By the time you finish this book, you will have progressed from beginning to speak to others, developing good conversational skill, to being able to conduct effective presentations.
