'Now' is an indication of time, like 'back then' and 'later'. It's part of a continuum of past, present and future, designed for life on Earth. But since time is essentially an illusion, one cannot be 'in the now'. Freedom can only be found outside space/time reality, one with consciousness. There, déjà vu's are commonplace. Iris, an eighteen-year-old Dutch girl with Native American blood, goes into a deep trance when she has to fight for her survival in a snow cave. She leaves her body and meets a shaman, a wolf and Bokke, the little man. Iris learns the language of the Lakota indians, experiences the hardships of her ancestors and discovers how her great-grandfather, an Oglala Lakota, died in the Second World War. Gradually, it becomes clear that her life is predestined. Her out-of-body experiences show her the way for the rest of her life. Author Jaap Cové grew up in The Netherlands, and lives and works in Santa Rosa, CA (USA). The cultures of the world, and the diversity of spiritual insights, are inexhaustible sources of inspiration in his writing. The Girl in the Web is his third novel. www.jaapcove.com
