Written from someone who lived a life similar to the stories told. Tom one point of view and encompass many points of view, many people experiences. Featured poems cover a myriad of lived experiences over the LGBT spectrum of people of color. Not only speaking to experience of LGBT POC but also childhood experience of the author. friendship, being Black in America, etc. Several times in this book the author stops to briefly speak candidly between sections.
