A majority of those who support protection of their constitutional rights in the Second Amendment have never read the Second Amendment. Most supporters of the Second Amendment neither care about, nor do they seek to understand how the Second Amendment was written for local militia of the 18th century. The vast majority of U. S. citizens, who now claim protection of Second Amendment rights for ownership of more than 300 million guns, do not claim they are patriots defending the nation; yet they seek to stand on the shoulders of patriots in the 18th century who fought, bled and died in defense of the nation.
