This special re-print edition of the Louisiana Agricultural Experiment Stations' book "Breeds of Hogs" has not been available to those interested in pig husbandry since its release in 1910. The Stations' famous work on pigs and swine husbandry includes basic details on swine breeds such as the Poland China, the Berkshire, Essex Pigs, Hampshires, the Tamworth, the Durc-Jersey, Yorkshire Hogs, Chester White, Cheshires, the Victoria, Common Southern Hogs or "Razorbacks" and others. Also included is a section on the raising of crops for swine feed. Breeds of Hogs will shed considerable light on popular domestic pig breeds that were raised in the early 20th century.
