Have you ever made a promise to someone but could not keep it? You had good intentions, you really wanted to and you thought you could do it, but something kept you from fulfilling that promise. We all get excited and hopeful when a promise is made to us. In our mind, this individual is going to come through, we will make this happen, he or she said "Yes" and this causes a high expectation; it lowers the stress level and often puts us in relax mode. Just to name a few: -I promise to always love you.-I promise to meet you in the middle.-I promise to stick with you (ride or die friend).-I promise to serve and love God.-I say "Yes" to the dress.-I say "Yes" to that job.-I say "Yes" to my family and friends.-I say "Yes" to God. Because of the HOPE that promise brings, the response is a resounding "Yes and Amen." When the promise is broken just as fast as it was made, the heart, mind and soul take an emotional ride sometimes for a day or years. That's life. We are human.
