The Jungle Girls in this book are: Cave Girl, Nyoka, Rulah, Sheena, Dorothy Lamour (yes. Really), Vooda, Tiger Girl, White Princess, and Zegra. Almost all of these young women came to be Jungle Girls by having their parents come to the African jungle where they were killed by some animal or the natives or something. Then their unlucky daughter somehow made it to adulthood raised by whoever - wolves, monkeys themselves. Frankly, I hate these parents. What were they thinking?! Was this supposed to be some fun field trip for their infant daughters? Did they not realize that wild beasts, natives, what have you might be just a tad bit dangerous for their youngest? Could they not have left their child at home in the care of some other trusted guardian while they had their selfish adventures? After all, they had the money to travel half way across the world. Wasn't their something left to hire a decent nanny?
