An adventure packed story set in colonial Africa in 1939, just before WW2 breaks out. A group of friends sets out to discover an ancient lost city in the Chimanimani Mountains in Mozambique, on the border with Southern Rhodesia, which they have heard is rich in gold. They've discovered that tamarind trees mark the route that the Swahili traders of old followed from the sea to the city. They set out on an expedition into a magnificent and pristine wilderness abounding with wild animals, and face many dangers and trials, overcoming great difficulties and obstacles, but always advancing resolutely towards their goal - the mysterious lost city.
