The story of David and Goliath is adapted for a new audience and for a new purpose, to help educators teacher English/Language Common Core standards and beyond through Readers Theater. Eleven characters come to life as the theme Triumph Over Challenges is told in a meaningful way. Based on the biblical story of David and Goliath, The Sling and the Stone brings in practical application of man's continual struggle by developing setting, content vocabulary, robust vocabulary, as well as comprehension questions at the end of each act. Biblios is a Readers Theater, which is paired with a full curriculum available separately through Educationally Yours, LLC., which is written in a three-act model. Each story provides opportunities for cross-curricular connections, appeals to different learning modalities, and provides implicit lessons for character education.
