The Great War Diane Sleger

Diane discovered her grandfather's WWI veteran's photographs with captions and as Illustrator and Author, she published: The Great War, A Soldier's View. As tears filled her eyes, had to catch her breath as she felt she began to know her grandfather. WWI veteran of William Frederick Weir served with the American Field Service, Special Services Unit 649, with the American Expeditionary Forces in the First Division. It relates specifically to a driver/mechanic's experiences in the trenches, including Cantigny, Soissons, and Meuse Argonne. Diane's role as the Editor, Illustrator, and Correspondent of a military novel, One Lucky Combat Infantryman, author Paul H. Sleger. Paul H. Sleger served as a Sergeant, and Squad Leader with the 11th Armored Division, Thunderbolt. He participated in the battles of Ardennes, Rhineland and Central Europe, including the Battle of the Bulge. Hellgate Press, 2017. Diane is dedicated to sharing veterans' military memories. She honors their service and heroism, and is devoted to preserve our American history. As a Revolutionary War Patriot descendent, Diane is a member of the NSDAR, Illinois Chapter, and Chairman of the Veterans Committee.
