Carl Hammond is an artist. He dreams above all else that he will make beautiful paintings. There is no question whether Carl is talented, nor if his work is promising. There are those who say Carl is a gifted young man, and some are certain he has no talent at all. He knows what talent he has he was born with and that it is his to use, or not, in life. When he begins a canvas of a mysterious woman, he realizes there is something missing to complete his life and he has no idea what. This sets Carl off on a journey to find meaning only sometimes following a dream is a terribly cruel sacrifice.
