Dragons Fly Courtney a Drew
Dragons Fly
Courtney a Drew
The girl opened her eyes for the first time that morning. The warm sun spilled in through her open window, caressing her skin like a mother. She sat up and stretched. She felt a yawn coming on but it died away. She pondered the dream she experienced in the night but it faded like a whisper. Rising from her bed she approached her vanity and stared into the mirrored glass. She ran a brush through tangled hair. Her eyes were still tired. She tried to smile but it failed. How she wished she could remember her dream. Anger and frustration boiled and she slammed down her fist. With surprise she recoiled, sharp pain startling her. She looked down at her hand. She looked back at the mirror, meeting her eyes, and smiled a knowing smile. Yes, she remembered that dream now; the dream that she is a dragon.
