I Am Not My Father
Geneise Grant
Chris' mother is killed at the hands of his abusive father when he was just a toddler. John (Chris' father) is sentenced to 25 years in prison, and Chris is raised by his grandmother Joan. Raised in the church, Chris knows all too well about God and his word, but little does he know the generational curse of abuse was passed to him from his father's bloodline and the signs of this curse begin to show up in his relationship with his new, but timid and insecure girlfriend Tina. When Chris' father gets out of jail early for good behavior, and tries to develop a relationship with his son, Joan intervenes. When Chris tries to find out why, the truth is revealed about his mother's death. This information angers Chris to the point of rage, and the more Tina tries to help, the more his anger is taken out on her. Pastor Brooks finally steps in and explains generational curses to Chris. Learning the truth about his father's past made him realize that this bloodline curse must end with him once and for all.
