About the Book - This a story of determination, told from the perspective of an 8-year-old. This book summarizes his journey, from birth to the present, with details of his most recent setback, surgery, and recovery. Mason has bravely struggled with a difficult case of regressive clubfeet. Clubfoot is a birth defect that happens about 1 in every 1,000 births. Treatment is intense from birth to age 3 or 5. Most children do not continue to struggle past that point. Mason has had numerous casts on his legs, as well as multiple surgeries. Although Mason had good care and he strictly followed his treatment plan, his feet have been difficult to correct. This book is great for families with children who have clubfeet, as well as those without, as it shows how some children struggle in life, but never give up! About the Author/Illustrator - Mason is a happy and active 8-year-old, who lives in Western New York. "In My Feet - Mason's Clubfoot Story" is Mason's first published book. Mason wrote the story and created all of the illustrations. He wants to share about his journey to show how it is not easy to struggle, but you have to be strong (even when you are weak), so that you can keep moving forward. Mason wants to tell his story to help other families. He plans to donate all profits of his book sales to the organizations that have helped him so much. Mason is a hero!
