Dahlias Reimagined is a collection of digitally captured images, that I have reimagined with a look and character of analog film.



In the days of analog film cameras, shooting with film was seriously expensive. Developing film in a darkroom, was also expensive, and at times, tremendously difficult. In spite of the labor and expense, film that developed into a beautiful image, made it all worth while. I never did learn to fully appreciate the experience of working in the darkroom, but I envied those who mastered it, and were able to create those breathtaking images.



Digital darkroom editing has removed the headache and expense associated with the traditional darkroom. Never content with a digital image straight out of the camera, the digital darkroom is my avocation, and my modus operandi, for transforming harsh digital images into something that closely resembles film.
