Hurricanes Keep on Coming W Dean Witten

Hurricane Harvey trashed Houston, Texas, as well as surrounding cities. Next, Hurricane Irma descended on Florida with a fury. Next, hurricane Maria devastated Puerto Rico. We would like to say: "That's the end of hurricanes. Never again!" But the reality is that the 2017 season was not the end of hurricanes; rather, they will just keep on coming, until the end of time. A well know minister received thousands of letters from his vast radio and television audience. He said, "I have discovered from the mail I receive that the most prevalent problem among men and women today is fear." That isn't surprising. The evidence for it during a hurricane is undeniable. Yet, people of faith cope with the help of the Lord. We are confident that Christ is with us. His presence is key in an unsafe world. Christ was with us the day before hurricane Irma arrived; moreover, he was with us through the duration of the storm; additionally, he was with us when the hurricane blew through and finally ran out of energy. The good news is that the hurricane died, but Christ did not. Rather, he is still alive among us. As Jesus said, "where two or three are gathered in my name, I am there among them."
