Surviving childhood abuse is a remarkable feat within itself. But just when you thought the hardest part was over, you start experiencing its effects. Healing often feels like an ever-consuming fire, especially as you start identifying, accepting and processing emotions. From the Fire is a collection of poems that show these emotions, hoping to provide insight to the scarring and healing of abuse. It is a fire that does not destroy us but helps form and shape a new us. A survivor and not a victim. Healing hurts. It burns. Yet, we make it through. We are not destroyed. And what is left from the fire is a beautiful you. I want to share your pain and your hope. Hope for a life you want, free from the effects of childhood abuse. Free from the fire.
