Whatever happened to Christmas being about the birth of God's Son? It is true that nine in ten Americans celebrate Christmas. It's also true that the role of "religion" in Christmas celebrations appears to be in decline. And of course, Christmas is the time of year when retailers make the majority of their money (and consumerism hits an all-time high). Make no mistake about it, Christmas is absolutely about receiving (it is NOT about getting), and it is at Christmas that we celebrate receiving the greatest gift - the gift of God's Son. Christmas is about the greatest story ever told - the story of God's love given to humanity through Christ's birth. Christmas also gives us the greatest opportunity to be the very best human beings we can possibly be - through sharing Jesus with others. Our prayer is that through reading and studying this devotional you might learn to desire and do Christmas a little different this year. Nuttin' But Bad can be used for personal study and devotion as you move though the season of Advent to Christmas.
