The Weller Family along with several other families agrees to colonize a newly discovered uninhabited planet traveling by ship via a Wormhole light years from Mother Earth. Ruby and Nolan try, but can't seem to stay out of trouble. Their adventures in previous books included helping hatch a dragon, riding on dragons backs, going deep sea fishing and being netted from the boat, like a fish, and kidnapped by the "others." One would think that would be enough adventure for a lifetime.
