It tells the story of William Stoakes, Sr. and his wife, Ann Hall Stoakes, coming to America from London, England in the late 1700s, and settling in Ohio. Their sons, John and William, marry sisters Jane and Keziah Vantilburg and have families of their own. The genealogy of the family ranges from the 1700s until 1920s, when this book was published. Also included are family names Hopkins, Thomas, Watts, Rider, Gaston, and Young.
