Senior year of high school is a time of excitement, uncertainty, and discovery. Mari is trying to become a pro surfer. Curtis is trying to snag a baseball scholarship. And Fisher? He's just trying to make it through. But when these three students find themselves in Mr. Riley's Current Events class, they learn much more than just what's going on in the world. They learn that they are more intelligent, more capable, and more powerful than they ever imagined. And when the Honolulu Public School Board threatens to cut classes, lay off faculty, and enact changes all in the name of money, they decide that they aren't going to just lie down and take it. They deserve better, and they're going to fight for it.
