Drawing upon a rich variety of life experiences and an eclectic academic background, Mr. Nordmoe has written a collection of short essays that offers a unique perspective on education, culture, work, character, and life as we know it in this present age. Compiled and reprinted upon demand, these essays stem from weekly newsletters published while the author was the head administrator of River's Edge Christian Academy for ten years while in his sixties.

Aware of the tendency of our times towards chronological snobbery, he willingly has accepted the appellation of "ancient" from some members of his younger staff and gladly speaks from a vantage point of maturity and years. His lifelong inspiration derived from a large scriptural print hanging in his high school study hall; wisdom is the principal thing, therefore get wisdom (Proverbs 4:7).
