Through grief, tragedy, divorce, sickness, aging, death, and other storms of life, God shows up. But we must be open to his holy presence; we must know that he is a rewarder to those who diligently seek him. "And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him" (Hebrews 11:6).
