George Rausch, our fictionalized representation of Dodge, drowned in the North Channel of Georgian Bay on August 15, 1938. An explosion occurred, injuring several people, including the young millionaire. George's new bride loaded the injured into a speed boat and headed to the nearest hospital, miles away.
