Who am I? Why am I here? Does GOD really care about me? In epidemic proportion we are suffering from an identity crisis. Christians, Believers, Jesus Followers, name us what you will, but many of us do not know who we are. It is impossible to rest in the peace and provision that God provided for us through the Cross of Christ if we do not understand that as Children of God we are the Righteousness of Christ. That is our identity. In his book, Everything God Requires God Provides, David Harris explains the connection between who we are and the finished work of Christ on the cross. Who we are to God is what determines our identity and understanding our identity is what sets us free from everything that would enslave us. Through the cross, God provided what was necessary for us to know who we are and to be what He has called us to be - Ambassadors of His image in this world. - "... as He is, so are we in this world" (I John 4:17). If ever there was a crisis when it comes to knowing and resting in our identity, it is now. Our sense of identity is crumbling. There are more than 33,000 different Christian denominations in the world today. We have lost site of our identity because we do not understand that through the Cross - Everything God Requires God Provides.
