One evening, two days before the Fourth of July of 2001, my ex-husband and I went to get some fireworks for our son and grandchildren to shoot off for the holiday. The store where we went to purchase the fireworks from was located in Southern Illinois and we lived in St. Louis, MO. After purchasing the fireworks, while on the highway returning home, a speeding car suddenly ran into us and our car hit the retaining wall on the Martin Luther King Bridge. One week before the accident I prayed for God to help me in my walk with Him. I asked Him to make a change in my life. I was tired of being spiritual only on Sundays and living worldly Monday through Saturday. God heard my prayer and told me what to do; He instructed me to pray every day and read His word once a day after coming home from work. It was God's light that brought me through this situation and so many others throughout my life.
