This poem book is the first complete work by Charles Wayne Cumbie. He started writing poems when he was 51 years old, with his initial inspiration coming from Lincoln's Gettysburg Address. It was so impressive and so moving that he was inspired to parody the address with the subject matter changed to family instead of soldiers, starting him on his POEMED journey.
